Hello Everyone!

Here’s another edition of the F.S. Commercial Landscape Newsletter, where we address your questions about commercial landscape maintenance.

WHY ARE MY BRAND-NEW TREES
BENDING OVER AND STILL NEEDING
STAKES AFTER 2 YEARS?

Answer: They were fertilized with too much nitrogen at the nursery, causing rapid growth and insufficient lignin production in the trunk, which affected their ability to stand upright. To remedy this, top the tree
3/4 of the way up to shorten the trunck and give the tree more time to grow taller. Additionally, re-staking the tree gives the tree better support. Use 3″x10′ tree
stakes for better support.

HERE IS A LIST OF TREES WHERE THE
TRUNK WILL NOT STAND UP STRAIGHT
